Last night I got a little crazy and philosophical. I read what I wrote last night and realized it may have sounded a little weird. I'm okay. No weirder than I used to be!
I'm so excited that Liz is coming this weekend! She's so sweet and compassionate and she's a nurse! I love that she can explain medical things to me. Then Sunday night Carolyn will be coming from Billings! How lucky can I be! Two sisters to look forward to! I'm hoping Carolyn will help me find some jeans that fit. All my jeans are "mom jeans" and they are all too big. Carolyn always lifts my spirits--she's so thoughtful and energetic. And she loves a challenge...Then the day after Carolyn goes home, my fun, talented, wonderful cook brother, Jerry is coming! He promised to play some of his new music for me. I am so thankful for all my brothers and sisters.
Hope your're having a great Thursday. Thanks for your prayers. Love, Julie

Mom, I'm so glad you have such loving siblings, who will be coming to spend time with you!! They're all so fun and have so many different things to offer!
Your previous entry wasn't weird, at ALL, by the way. You were being real and allowing yourself to express your true feelings, not to say that your "Pollyanna" attitude isn't authentic. I just don't know how it's humanly possible to have complete and sincere optimism while experiencing all that you're CONSTANTLY going through.
I love you and am always thinking of you! Love, Bets
Julie,
I was touched by your last entry
and appreciated your honesty.
I was reading today about Jesus in the desert and how Angels came to minister to him. It sounds like your Angels are on the way.
Love, Lauri
I don't know anything about "angels" Laurie, but I'm getting anxious to get up there to visit. :) Cooking, hmmm. how about Mandarin Chicken? I like it, and I don't get to cook it too often, as I have to watch my sugar. I feel like Grandma Hos when she would dish out the ice cream and "sample" it. I have such a clear memory of her dishing out the ice cream: one scoop, two scoops, taste, three scoops. . .I'm in the same boat these days. It was so cool of dad to take those home movies and convert them to DVDs. I've watched them twice, and it really made me realize how much the Howards and we are connected with a common legacy. Patrick is so cute!

Hi Julie...Luke got us a different computer for Christmas and it is much faster...so I am writing you a note. Glad CArolyn and Liz are there...PUT THEM TO WORK! They are great sisters and I know you are having a great time.
I preached last Sunday on Hebrews 6:19...I thot of you alot during the preparation. The verse is this: We have this HOPE, as an anchor for our soul...firm and secure! That is quite reassuring for all of us when going through whatever in this life. Be encouraged...Steve Strutz
Julie, I am so glad that I was able to stay an extra day and experience what you go through for Chemo. You are so courageous! I am blessed to have you as my "sees-ter"!! :) Love you, Liz
