Sometimes we refer to our days at the Cancer Center as Twilight Zone Days. Those are the days that we think we're going to be there 1 hour and it ends up being 5 hours or worse. Time seems like it exists in a different dimension at the Cancer Center. But today was NOT one of those days. Happily everything was according to schedule and I had a wonderful nurse who was very efficient and caring. I had my PTT and the blood tests that precede chemo at 8:00 and we were on our way home at 1:30! Chemo went smoothly. Greg brought me lunch from Schlotzsky's Deli again today. mmm. And this afternoon I listened to the new CD Jerry sent me Saturday entitled "Mellow Music for Julie". I hope he takes it as a compliment...but I went to sleep during the very soothing music and the nurse had to wake me up to tell me it was time to go home! My favorite song on the CD is one about the old white station wagon our family had when we were kids. I could listen to it over and over. I asked Nick to help me put it on my blog. Is that okay, Jerry?
Update on Boris: We saw glimpses of his hyper miniature schnauzer personality this evening when he noticed Sid, our big hairy kitty. He really has a thing about cats. Greg took him on a long walk and he perked up a lot this afternoon.
Thank you for your prayers. Love, Julie

Julie...I am SO glad you had a somewhat normal day! :) I am also glad that Boris seems to be back to his old annoying ways...life is good!! I sure have enjoyed talking to you onthe phone lately. You know I am always praying for you and love you tons! Janice
Hi Julie!
I thought you would like the song. Of course, I believe YOU always rode in the front seat in the revered position between mom and dad? No matter, we always knew the pecking order. Hehe.
I was just starting to write when mom and dad called. I was reminiscing with them about April first, some years ago. Someone switched the sugar and the salt. And of course, the preverbial, "Jerry, did it!" came up. The Cheerios did not taste honey nutted in any way that day! And the eggs were never sweeter. I caught heck for it, but I think, the smile on my face at this moment, makes it all worth it. Mom was even laughing with Grandma later that day those fond years ago.
I'm not sure how the "Country Music Always Takes Me Home" song will sound uploaded. I would be curious to hear it. I'm still learning how to use compression to make the tracks fit and I think I used too much, but oh well, the song is pretty good.
Did you call the piano tuner? Tickets to Spokane are 49.00 right now, and I would like to play a decent piano, when I get up there. :)
School is going well the students are having a good time with "The Grapes of Wrath" Can you imagine the parrallels to Obama and the tent cities? I gave the kids a pickup and a family of four, and asked them what they would take with them it they lost their home. Most of the girls included their make-up. The boys all took an arsenal of guns. Makes sense, being that we are residing in the old west here in Adrian (BLM land is visible out my window; it is 400 miles due south until you reach any bastion of civilization). Oh, yeah the lap top computer was a necessity. And if you think about it. . .it really is! Entertainment, job searches, communication, money transfers. The computer would HAVE to be in the pick-up. The government should set-up free Wi Fi across the nation if things continue to spiral toward a depression. At least we could keep up with our entertainment heroes and be pacified. Hmmmm. Maybe we do have an advantage over the Joads!
Seven more weeks of school left. And summer break! Did I tell you I was going to John Doan's Harp Guitar retreat June 12-14? My only worry is that I may get gas. (You know, Gear [or Guitar] Acquisition Syndrome)I may want a harp guitar! Actually, I'm holding out for an Access Virus T1 or an Alesis Andromeda A6! Oh, so much gear and so little time!
There! I hope I made up for not blogging for awhile.
Love ya!
Jerry
It's always so fun to read what Jerry's written! I love you guys!!
Julie, so glad you had a good day on March 31. I've got some strong prayer warriors on task here in Tennessee! Suzi Bowen
I agree with Betsy . . . it is a kick to read Jerry's comments.
As I recall (even in my limited contact with the Ron Camp family-every other summer or so) "Jerry always did do it", at least whenever we were visiting. He was the trouble maker, seemed to rebel against perceived expectations. We always had great times with you guys! For us (a family with two kids) it was sort of like going to the circus, lots of people, entertainment and "stuff" going on.
Julie, in many ways you're better equipped than most to deal with this disease; faith in God, an upbeat attitude, a loving family, supportive friends and good doctors & nurses. With all of that working for you, you can't help but beat this. Think of you often, Debbie.
