Chemo Vacation

Ah...it's been a wonderful week! After every chemo cycle I get a week off and by the end of that week, I really feel great! I almost forget about the stupid old cancer. I feel so blessed that Betsy, Cam and the boys were healthy and I was healthy so I spent some very sweet days with them this week. It was an amazing little vacation. I got some video of Julian walking and being cute and of Sebastian "reading" an entire book and being cute. I feel so blessed that my daughters are good moms and that they have great husbands who are good dads.

We have been looking forward to seeing Jake at the end of the month because he and Matt were planning to include Coeur d' Alene in a concert tour. But now it looks like the tour is cancelled. Bummer.

I am so grateful to all of you who read this blog and care about us. It's so humbling to realize people love us enough to pray for us. The Lord continues to bless us through you. Thank you.
Love, Julie

I am done with the first nine weeks of school! I have about 20 Epic Hero narrative papers to read yet tonight. School is keeping my nose to the grindstone, and parent teacher conferences on top of that this week.

Darci is pretty much staying with her Grandma Nagaki. She and Grandma are pretty similar in stubborness. Grandma has just become pre-diabetic, and I get to play expert. To answer serious questions about what grandma can and can't eat is my reluctant function. Reluctant because Darci is no fun to be around when she knows how you should be treating yourself. She often can be a medical nazi. I mean when she is around you can't cheat at all! She gives the "look," and suddenly that cookie you took has become a mutual fund in last weeks stock market. Always arguing, they seem to have a great raport, with a lot of winks and smiles. Grandma is just as concerned with Darci's meds (methadone, hydrocodone, etc.)as Darci is concerned with grandma's diabetis. Of course the reason Darci is at Grandma's is so she can babysit Tory (Ellen and my nephew) and Brandy's baby, Sadie. It seems to be working out well for grandma and Darci. Two soul mates and a baby you might say. Darci is also finishing her final two classes for Oregon State via on-line. She will soon be a real college graduate!

Ellen is a bit under the weather tonight. She, too, has grades due this week and papers to finish up. And has a cold too! Well, we old folks can take it! Right, Julie?

After writing this, I am getting a little less enthusiastic about grading those 20 papers. I can put it off until tomorrow night, hmmm.

Did I mention you look a bit, I mean just a bit, like grandma Hostetler? It made me smile when mom showed me a picture of you from when she and dad came to visit.

I am very happy that you had a great week. Blog On!

Brother Jerry

Post Scriptum: I have a two CD set I'm sending tomorrow. Well, I guess I have time to compose a bit. Hehe.

Hi Greg & Julie,
I just want to say hi and that you are in my prayers. God has been doing some AMAZING things in my life. They are so amazing that only HE can be doing them! Anyhow, if you are interested, Ron & Gloria have heard all about it.
Julie, I'm so glad that last week was a good one for you! It was so good to see you when you guys were down here! Julie, you look so good!
Anyhow, I'm praying for you as we walk together through this life with Christ.
